Deep Time Walk: Fundraiser

December 1, 2024 - 8:15 am to 1:00 pm

Walk through 4.6 billion years of Earth’s evolutionary history through a 4.6km guided walk

Each step = 500,000 years
1 metre = 1 million years.

As we confront the reality of a potential 6th mass extinction, we aspire for this deep time walk to embolden our relationship to the earth, and allow Gaia to help us navigate our future.

Embody Deep Ecology

The walk engages the head, heart and body.

  • Feel the vastness of Earth in our bodies as we connect to Gaia and her ancient sacredness.
  • Allow Deep Ecology to be internalised and woven into the fabric of our being, transcending intellectual understanding.
  • Deep dive into the emotional landscapes of the Earth as we experience it in our bodies through walking with evolutionary stories.

Shift from ‘Shallow’ to ‘Deep’ Time

This shift invites us to move away from short-term, extractive and exploitative modes of being and relating; towards modes that are long-term, regenerative and collaborative.

  • Violent and destructive impact of human activity in just a fraction of Earths’ time; contrasts Gaia’s enduring billion-year self-regulating rhythms.
  • Inspiring a fresh, innovative theory of change to confront Earth’s climate emergency and the potential 6th Mass Extinction that we humans are driving.

Why experience a Deep Time Walk?

  • Connect with the more-than-human world of Botanic Gardens (wheelchair-accessible route).
  • Experience knowledge unfold as a communal and emergent process.
  • Feel the immensity of the time it took for life to evolve.
  • Perceive the interconnectedness of all life.
  • Discover how each of the 18 Earth stations serves as a foundation, catalyst and guiding force for the next stage of Earth’s evolution.
  • Widen your awareness of a profound intelligence of Earth’s orchestration of life.
  • Explore the undeniable signals that justify the threat of a 6th Mass Extinction on Earth.
  • Realize how unprepared we are for the collapse of the Earth; as our collective attention is distracted by short-term concerns.
  • Explore potential solutions within the wisdom and heritage of indigenous communities in Singapore and neighbouring region.
  • Pay it forward by supporting a mutual aid fundraiser to promote cultural and ecological regeneration in the Philippines.

Mutual Aid Fundraiser for Tayuksidi Collective

Tayuksidi Collective is a network of cultural wisdom bearers and advocates supporting Native Healers & Ritualists (Babaylan, Tambalan, Manghihilot, Albularyo) in the Philippines.

Its goal is to help rebuild and sustain ritual community houses, as spaces for storytelling, knowledge sharing and community gathering.

In this time of climate emergency and modernisation, we wish to inspire local and youth to protect our sacred environment.

The money will be used to build a community house to preserve traditional ecological knowledge in the Philippines.

Biodynamic Somatic Therapy in Singapore

Nov 27 - Dec 11, 2024

Biodynamic Somatic Therapy is a method of gently realigning the body’s dynamics to release tension, restore balance, and support holistic healing from chronic pain, stress, and emotional volatility.

Biodynamic Somatic Therapy (BST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the body’s natural rhythms to reorganise from misaligned or overworked states into more fluid, available, and spacious states of internal harmony.

Rooted in Craniosacral dynamics, BST focuses on the spine—the core of the central nervous system—helping to address chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, and the lingering effects of trauma.
