An embodiment retreat

Oceanic Body

rituals of deep time

April 26 to 28, 2024
Sugi Island, Riau Archipelago, Indonesia

An Invitation

We invite you to our next embodiment retreat, Oceanic Body: Rituals of Deep Time. With the hopes to gather an intentional group with authentic interest in this work of deepening connection to self, collective, and earth. While widening our capacity for stress amidst the fragility of modernity.

Modern way of life has coerced us towards the violence of rushing, urgency of time, and pursuit of perfection.

In the lifespan of the earth, we are a blink of an eye. In this animistic perspective, time is tectonic.

Oceanic Body: Rituals of Deep Time is a container to expand our embodied notions of time, slowing down through states of movement, collective dreaming, and returning to the rhythms of nature – where there is no rushing, but everything gets done.

With the witness of the ocean, being moved and moving with the waters of our body – we remember ourselves as expansive as that of the horizon.

As drops of the ocean, we come together as our ancestors did – to seek counsel with nature in states of deep time through storytelling, movement, sound, and circles.

Move with us for this intentional gathering.

Within the secluded Sugi Island, Riau Archipelago — we have the internal and external spaciousness, that is often difficult to access amidst urban terrain. This space invites us into the Oceanic Body.

We would be honoured to welcome you.

Chloe & Lisa

Embodied Landscapes™

An embodied exploration enliven nature within. A space to let the body speak before the mind. Through movement as a gateway, we’ll work with the intention to feel free in your body.

We will begin with a somatic (body based) awareness practice, followed by opening the spine through simple yet effective spinal flow sequence. We will then be guided to activate our spatial awareness, and transition into an intuitive flow. We close with a deep nidra and sound bath to bring the body into equilibrium.

Movement and sound acts as a bridge for all bodies to deepen into expressive motion, leading into potential resolution of tension and trauma.

Embodied Landscapes is created by Chloe and has been offered in Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines and Thailand. Chloe is trauma aware and assures accessibility in movement for all bodies. This session is supported with live sound by Lisa and Chloe.

A Dynamic Dialogue Of Body-Mind Connection

Embodiment is the practice of being fully present in your body, acknowledging its wisdom and intelligence. Movement is integral to embodiment, serving as a gateway to express emotions, release tension, and enhance the mind-body connection

In a world often dominated by cognitive or mental control, embodiment practices aim to shift the focus to a more holistic approach.

In other words, embodiment emphasizes the bidirectional relationship between the mind and body. It acknowledges that the body holds valuable information, emotions, and intelligence, and by tuning into the body’s signals, we can manage our mental states, decision-making processes, and overall well-being. Embodying a shift from mind control to a holistic integration.

This shift from mind controlling body (top to bottom) to a body integrated approach, where the body informs and guides the mind (bottom to top), is a fundamental principle in embodiment practices.

Embodiment is a journey from mind control to a harmonious integration, where movement becomes a profound tool for self-expression, emotional release, and holistic well-being allowing movements to guide our mind.

Deep Time: Ancestral Wisdom

Deep time is a practice of ancestral talking circles, involuntary non-movement, and a dream journey; while being supported through Theta wave sounds.

An allowing of time to shape shift.

Sharing of our ancestral lines inform how that has made us who we are at present. Leading into a meditative state of involuntary non-movement, inviting the body to melt with nature and be comfortable with discomfort. Closing with a gentle guided dream exploration grounded in the theme of ancestry.

Time shape shifts as we enter into different states of being, the body becomes a source of deep insight, the shared circle become a space of collective care.

Amidst modernity’s backdrop — Can we allow ourselves to slow down time? Can we invite an unfolding of the inherent wisdom stored in our bodies?

Cacao Ritual - Ceremony

In this ritual, we will take time to ponder upon our place within the earth through meditative contemplation, writing, movement, and being in circle.

We will connect with the deity of Criollo cacao, an heirloom seed that migrated from the Amazon to the Mayans and then the Philippines.

Alongside cacao, we will work with the medicine of eucalyptus, sound frequency, embodiment, sacred thread, and visionary meditation.

Chloe has been embraced by cacao throughout her upbringing. She comes with a deep seat in practices and plants rooted in spiritual evolution. She has sat with many indigenous elders and holds cultural sensitivity in its highest regard.

Lisa will be creating a unique blend of the Criollo cacao with spices and herbs, to add complexity to the flavour, and to work with other herbal allies to enhance our cacao experience. She will also be supporting with sound throughout the ritual.

Testimonials

What Other People Experienced

This retreat was transformative, kind, and loving. It’s hard to find retreats and people I can trust to hold space for mental health practitioners like me. Chloe, the rest of the team, and the whole community are deep in love and in study, and are therefore trustworthy. I have come out of this retreat reawakened, more kind to my body, and with a stronger sense of belonging.” – Gabes, Psychotherapist, Educator & Community Organiser, Philippines

My retreat experience was immersive and inspiring. There is something grounding and nourishing about being in nature, especially when I was feeling disconnected and untethered in city life. A mindfully designed, heartfelt experience led by facilitators who really held space. Overall, a retreat I would go back for – again and again.– Krystle, Marketing Executive, Singapore

Sensitive, joyful, nourishing, grounding solidarity building in a paradisiaque location infused with healing energies and tangible practices. Chloe is a wonderful facilitator and collaborator who has woven together a beautiful tapestry that we may drape lovingly on ourselves from time to time after the retreat.” – L.H, Theater Practitioner & Educator, Singapore

Biodynamic Somatic Therapy in Singapore

Nov 27 - Dec 11, 2024

Biodynamic Somatic Therapy is a method of gently realigning the body’s dynamics to release tension, restore balance, and support holistic healing from chronic pain, stress, and emotional volatility.

Biodynamic Somatic Therapy (BST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the body’s natural rhythms to reorganise from misaligned or overworked states into more fluid, available, and spacious states of internal harmony.

Rooted in Craniosacral dynamics, BST focuses on the spine—the core of the central nervous system—helping to address chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, and the lingering effects of trauma.
